My Mum's just recently been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. I've only just come onto this site and already reading other peoples' stories has made me cry. She's only 58 and I am about 20 years younger than her. It's already spread from her lung to her other parts of her body, therefore they can't operate and won't offer radiotherapy only 6 courses of chemo. It's so unfair and I feel like screaming. She lives abroad and is not allowed to travel back to the UK which makes things worse, I'm hoping she will be able to come back at some stage and we're going there at Xmas to spend time with her. There's no real prognosis just yet so it's just a waiting game which is frustrating.
I don't know what I'm looking for from this site, as I've not been on it before. I've lost family members to cancer previously including my uncle who passed away from bowel cancer a couple of months ago at the age of only 48. However, this hurts so much as it's my Mum who's always been there for me.
