My husband is Stage 4 and we have just passed the 2 year from diagnosis marker he has times when I think he seems to be getting worse then suddenly he seems fine. At the moment he is doing really well. In fact so well we are going to Canada in August for 3 weeks. Just make the most of your time together and even though its hard,  try not to think about timescales. All the best

My sister has asked me to find out the same.

She's worried that Mum'll go in pain. She wonders if it will be sudden like a bleed or if it will be slow and we'll watch her deteriorate.

She's scared to ask the Drs without fear of usetting Mum or Dad but it's niggling her.

    Hi Mummyto4

Please take heart, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with secondary tumours on my spine and lymph nodes in October 2008.  I have had 2 sets of chemotherapy (Gem/Carb and Taxotere) but the last scan shows its growing again.  I feel good at the moment and am waiting to start more treatment.  I just take each day as it comes and when I feel well I do all the things I want to do.  I have just had a stay in a 5 star luxury spa hotel and then 2 weeks in the Caribbean.  I have also broken my foot last week and am in plaster from my toes to my knee but these things happen. I try to think 'glad' thoughts, like I'm glad I didn't break my back or neck.  Be glad you have the time that you have with your mum and that God chose you to be her daughter.

Hope things go well,I am thinking of you
