Sun Eclipse

Less than one minute read time.
I,ve always been interested in the natural world and today wanted to see the partcial eclpse of the sun as it may be the last time for me.Of course it was cloudy and raining, but just as the time came a little bit of blue sky drifted over and I thought if it just went over the sun it would be a miricle, and do you know what - it did for about 20 secs - and I saw the eclipse quite clearly.I gave my grateful thanks to whoever looks over us for the opportunity.I now do believe miricles can happen.

Oh, I was going to see that, and I forgot to look!  There are so many things to look at, as well.  I picked some wild raspberries this morning on my walk.  Just enough to scoff on the spot.  I have had a few blackberries already this year, and it looks like being a good year for them.  I made some scrumptious ice cream with them last year.  A very simple one with whipped cream and a teaspoon of icing sugar.  It was a really pretty puce and tasted lovely.

Just watching the seasons go round is amazing.  Last year I noticed how many normally white flowers were pink and maybe the pink varieties are spreading, but they seem more mixed this year.

I remember a big eclipse from 2001 or 2002.  It was amazing how the birds stopped singing and it was a bit dark, but everything was quiet.  A colleague and I exchanged quiet gags about being able to do so much for so little in the old days.

I had had a bit of fun.  In the build up to the eclipse, I had rushed in and said "If you don't do exactly as I say, I'll put the sun out" then flounced out of the room.  Down at headquarters, when everyone on a training course went outside to look at the eclipse, someone went into the training room and robbed everything out of handbags and stole a couple of laptops.  We were luckier.  Or more careful.

Isn't it wonderful if you ask for something and it does appear.  Yes, everything lovely that happens has had a special meaning for me since May 2007 and I sometimes was conscious that "This'll be the last time I..."  However, here I am a year later, so now I'm not making any presumptions about anything being the last time!  I think we should all be like that :  enjoy things as much as if it were the last time, but tell ourselves that it very well may NOT be!  Keep on seeing those eclipses!  xxxx Penny

Hi Janjay - that must have been such a magical moment for you right enough - and there WILL be other eclipses! Keep looking to the next horizon, and never lose sight of your dreams - we all need them, and they keep us going.

    Stay strong sweetheart!
