how long does it take for anyone who went through chemo and rt to get there tube iut and eat a little and feel their nouths were ok and that they were semi back to normal .

This is a tough one. It all depends on your power of healing with me I was unfortunate in the fact that after the surgery got an infection. I had a nasal gastric tube inserted and was fed like that for 6 months. Now I dont what you to think the same time frame will happen to you.
It could be a fortnight or a month, but thats just guess work. I really hope its sooner rather than later.
Hello Jan. I have to echo Sarsfield on this one as it does depend on your own power of healing. As you know, I did unfortunately have a very bad reaction to the RT which left me with the Nasogastric tube for over a month. Although my mouth was still sore, my first food after the tube was Ensure Plus drinks, I lived on those for a while until I was able to eat a little cream of chicken soup. Mine was a slow progress but it was a small victory every time I could manage something different. Afraid that no one can say how long the healing will take as we all react differently. Best thing to do, Jan, is take it a day at a time and do have the liquid medical food to make sure you get the nutrition your body needs for healing.
