time to sign out i think

1 minute read time.
a massive THANK YOU to everyone on here who have helped me so much since my diagnoses in March 08, on the help through chemo and surgery. Only rads to go now on 5th Jan and of course the arimidex i am taking for next 5 years. You are all stars, are strong and wonderful people. However, i find myself getting so angry with people who post on here who claim organic and vitamins are proved to have cured their cancers. I know i should ignore them but we are all desperate and will try anything to help our cancers but most of us are intelligent enough to know that some "alternatives" may supposedly cure one may kill another, i feel really upset about this. The latest a post from judyb claiming its been proved her cancer was cured by vitamins and diet etc. I think these kinds of postings are dangerous and i must stop reading them and move on with life. So before i get myself into trouble i am now signing out of this site but thank everyone genuine here who has been such a help to me. Merry christmas and lots of love and good healing to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx byeeeeeeeee xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jan, i am so sorry that you feel like you are better leaving the site....you shouldn't feel that way. We all have a place here and whilst we may not always agree with each others view point or ideas we are all on a difficult journey! Please reconcider as your opinions and input are appreciated too.

I find that i have days where certain things wind me up quicker than normal, on those days i make sure that i don't read a blog through that i don't agree with or that i find upsetting! I'm not hiding from it i just don't see why i should be upset unduly!!! If i feel strongly in favour or against something i will comment...please try not to let it get to you.

Hopefully you will have a great festive season and we will see you again in the new year xxxxx

One is the anagram of the other.

I agree with you I am sick of the personal cure stories also ; if people would only say 'I found this or that helpful' rather than saying they are totally cured of cancer....

Although he is well at the moment, my husband has a terminal type of cancer - ha, you don't get many people claiming cures for that! Hope you have a lovely time over the next few weeks and whatever you decide, the site should still be there if you feel the need to interact again in this way.

    All the best, Clarity x

There is a huge cross-section of folk on this site with wildly differing views and experiences.    I think that CB is a broad church where all views and exchanges can be aired.    I would agree that the 'claim' referred to is unfortunate in its choice of words (mainly the 'can cure cancer' bit).    However, the real debate happened in the subsequent postings which only serve to widen the discussion on how best to tackle our own conditions.    So, please don't leave on account of any of this.   CB still remains the best place for support and advice.

Sorry that you feel you have to leave, but if as you say you find postings like that are distressing you, then you are right to go.   We do get a whole range or people on here, because a whole range of people get cancer.  One never knows from what someone writes exactly what their true circumstances are, how bad their cancer has been, and how it has affected them mentally as well as physically.   Personally I always try just to avoid the very very few people on here whom I find antagonistic or slightly disturbed.

I hope that being so far advanced with your treatment now means that you are feeling supported by your family, friends and medical staff, and I wish you all the very best for 2009.  Take care, and please do pop back later and tell us those lovely words - that you are cancer-free!

    Lots of love xxxx Penny
