It has been my experience since I joined the site in 2007, that people who are here for a genuine cancer related reason do not behave in this manner. That is not to say that genuine people do not get upset and occasional missunderstandings occur. I am amazed though at how knowledgeable genuine people become about their condition and their treatment. Not much else matters than relating the stage and the symptoms and the various drug regimens, the surgery the scans the biopsies etc. I have yet to meet a genuine person who does not seek answers. The last thing on your mind is to cause offence and to say hurtful things.

I am surprised admin banned this person and later  lifted the ban.

As others have said do not let one rotten experience put you off chat it is a supportive and friendly place, and because it is real time you need not stuggle on your own.

Hi everyone,  I just want to agree with you all.  Jen I have been using chat for 15 months and have made the most wonderful friends in there.  Yes we've had the nutters and the nasties but the majority are wonderful caring people.  I'll pop in tonight and join you.  Caroline XX

Id like to echo what everyone says,

Chat at the end of the day is like the real world, there will be people you like, others you not so keen on etc but the main thing is everyone should respect everyone else. Chat can be a great support, things dont always come over right when written down so I do try to give people, especially as they all in need, the benefit of the doubt.

But yes, every now and again we get a nutter! someone who pretends to be someone they are not and are present only to cause upset - for some bizarre reason! but we spot them easily and a quick message to admin, and they're gone!

Just alittle shocked that in this instance the ban was just for a week???
