Hello, Metastasized Leiomyosarcoma here. In July 2006 i was diagnosed with utereine LMS. I had the total hysterectomy with wide margins.. and 30 radiation treatments. All seemed well.. until March 2007 it showed up aggressively in both lungs... 14 large tumors.,, my prognosis was terminal. my oncologist told me that chemo wouldn't cure me but may buy me some time... so i started chemo. i took chemo for 1 1/2 yrs (adriamycin, cisplatin, taxotere, taxol, and gemsar) My condition continued to worsen, so I had that long hard talk with God about accepting his will for my life or death , here on this earth. Here is the Miracle! that same week i just happened to meet a lady in a cancer chatroom online who had the same cancer. we talked and she told me her doctor had put her on a drug called Megace. (this drug is usually given to hospice patients as an appetite stimulant, it is a synthetic progesterone) turned out it started shrinking her tumors... so i consulted my oncologist about it... he said we had nothing to lose by trying it... so he prescribed her dosage to me which is 80mg twice per day. I only pay a $5 copay for this drug! (generic is called Megastrol) my very next ct scan showed improvement... each 3 month ct scans after, the tumors shrunk and shrunk... now i am considered disease free! i still am in a high risk group for it to return, but for now the cancer is gone! this drug may save someones life. i am out for no gain at all,, i just want to help anyone who is going thru this horrible battle as i did. please contact me if u would like more information ... or if your doctor would like to contact my doctor www.jakkieblu@aol.com. thanks for your time...
