Hi I wonder if any one has had/ having the same experience as I find myself in. I was diagnosed with neck cancer in early April and had a biopsy to confirm it on 6/5/11 plus CRT and Ultra sound scans. The Consultant told me I would be starting my chemo on 2/6/11and we were all prepared for it but 2 days before asked me to come in. He then told me that they could not identify the type of cancer, all they knew for certain was it was Hodgkins lymphona. They arranged for a PET scan on 2/6/11 and I saw him on 9/6/11. Since then I developed large and extremley painful lumps in my groin and began getting feverish in the evenings, so I rang the nurse at the hospital. They arranged for me to see the consultant on 16/6/11. He then told me that my sample had been sent from Birmingham to London and they could not identify it so they would have to send it to Cambridge for special tests. Meanwhile he told me he did want to start chemo because of the uncertanty, although he did say it was stage 3. He gave me Tramadol for the pain but even taking with paracetamol only just touches it. I am getting very worried because this seems to be spreading quite rapidly. Is this the norm or am I just worrying for nothing. Any comments would be welcome
