Drs visit

1 minute read time.
Well I finally went to the Dr's today re my swollen ankles. Gave him the history of health over the last few weeks. He took my temp (fine), blood pressure which was high, but the interesting thing was my pulse that was a racey 160, so he ordered an ECG which showed tachycardia and resting pulse of 103. After speaking with the Medical Registrar and the hospital it has been decided to put me onto Furosemide 40mg, so started that as soon as I got home. My 15 min appointment turned into 1hr 30mins and then I had to race off to the hospital for my CT scan which I was 10mins late because I thought that it was at 12:30, never mind though they were running late thank goodness. Having the CT scan was a mission in itself, as I have previously had a reaction to the contrast media and therefore have to take antihistamines before hand and then stay after for 20 mins. Once that was over I then had to go and have my bloods taken, by this time I am beginning to feel like a pin cushion. 30 mins later I was on my way home via the chemist. So now it is rest time for me. I feel like I have not stopped all day and to top it off my eldest daughter has moved her belongings in temporarily as she is going to be working out of Dunedin for a couple of weeks and then on her return she will be shifting into a new flat. Well that's me for today. Take care everyone Jacqui :-)

Thanks for your replies guys. Had a restful evening and eventually went off to bed at about midnight, though could not sleep and was still awake at 1:45am. Did not get up as I usually would as Tracey was sleeping in the lounge and I did not want to disturb her. I think I have had a reaction to the contrast media they used for the CT scan as my face feels like it is on fire and very red, no I have not been sitting in the sun, it was a very hot 28 degrees here yesterday. Anyway I had better get ready for work.

    Take care everyone
