Hi Jack, I am so sorry that your wife is feeling so sick and poorly! If is good that she is not in as much pain as she was though. I would get hold of her team or GP as there are antisickness injections that she can have...especially if she cant keep anything down. As far as not being hungry, i can relate to that. Think about when you have been naucious before or had an unsettled tummy, the last thing you want is to eat. Try and get her to have small meals on a regular basis, it can be what ever she wants though i think that light foods are easier to cope with. Tell her that she has to eat to keep her strength up or she won't be able to have the treatment and help fight this evil beast that has tried to attack us. My thoughts are with you both

Jack - sometimes they fob you off with weaker antisickness tablets to se if you can manage with them - but there are some very very good anitsickness tablets out there - RING THE CHEMO UNIT she should NOT be beng sick - there is no need - get some better  medicines and make sure you get them everytime afterwards too (next cycles) In fact I might be tempted to take herr to A&E if she is bad enough and they can issue the stronger meds too. Dont wait - sort it for her - she needs you. I had to this with my first chemo cycle and I always get the stronger ones now. Good luck let us know how you get on, Jools x

Hi Jack, I know you are really worried about your wife and I am sorry you are both going through this.Sometimes I think it is worse for carers as they probably feel frustrsted that there is little they can do. However by being there and supporting your wife , giving her lots of cuddles is VERY important. As Lorna has said get in touch with her Dr/team/nurse and talk to them. There are lots of different anti-sickness drugs available and hopefully one of them will work. It is good to try and eat what you feel like, when you feel like it and small portions are a good thing too.Hope things get better soon , love Jules x.

Sorry to hear your wifes feeling sickly, my husband is on day 6 of his chemotherapy treatment (for oesophagal cancer too (ECX) he was prescribed metoclopramide for sickness although so far has not needed to take any. He does feel queasy but it doesnt appear as bad as others (so far) he does however feel very tired and is sleeping a lot, some stomach craps too and feeling bunged up. Fortunately though he doesnt seem as bad a way as your wife, I would guess the ward she attended to commence chemotherapy is the best place to ring for advice. Good luck

    Hope things get better soon
