Jacks Daughters thoughts

Less than one minute read time.

Dad is 77 years young fit as an Ox , never ate loads not over weight ,so I guess we all missed the weight lost and tiredness.........his first op is on Monday so fingers crossed it can be removed from the stomach ,vowed I would not look up stomach cancer on the net and scare my self  . Want to be a strong daughter for my Dad as his always been there for mke but how do I do it ?

Mum is coping better than I thought ,My brother David will do all the driving to & from the hospital ( I don't drive feeling pretty useless . Though I brought him some fab PJ's he will be the trendist  patient in the hospital .

Decided today at 52 I need to learn to drive so I can be there ASAP for them both

Hello and welcome to this wonderful site where I am sure you will find loads of support from those of us who understand completely how you are feeling.

My dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer out of the blue in February this year. He was 68 and was also very fit and healthy. He was a very young 68 year old, but became an old man almost overnight. By the time his cancer was diagnosed it had spread to his liver, lungs and beyond and unfortunately, he passed away 8 weeks later.

You say that you feel useless, but I am sure there are many more things you can do for your family than drive. Just being there for your mum and especially your dad will be greatly appreciated.

I wish you all the very best and hope your dad's op goes well. I am here if you want to chat about anything.

Please let us know how things go for your dad.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

Hi and welcome.  Sorry to hear about your dad.  I agree, whoeheartedly, with what Christine and John say about this site.  It has been my lifeline over the past, almost, 11 months whilst my mum has been undergoing treatment.  Don't google things, you'll frighten yourself witless.  Use this site to gain all the advice and support you need to help you through this.  Love to you, your dad and all the family.  Caroline XX

Hi as John says Christine says it all so there is no point in repeating. When you said you where thinking of looking up Stomach Cancer on the net.

Dont believe everything you read as John said. There are people on the site better equipt to answer your questions than any net.If you ask the question

the chances are you will get an answer.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield.xxx
