Now it's ACTUALLY time to Tri

1 minute read time.

Ok, right, so my training blog hasn't actually been very active since my first entry six months ago (!!) however I can assure you I have been active - rowing , cycling and a spot of running. However specific training for triathlon in two months (!!!!) has not really materialised. So here's what I need to do:

Get some swim practice in. I have now downloaded my local pool timetable which means I will train and I have Googled where I can do some outdoor swimming to try out my wetsuit. I just need to purchase some Googles this weekend, get my Macmillan swimming cap and I am ready. I think I'm going to have to have to go swimming before work to fit it all in. This is a slight concern as I cycle to work and not sure I can fit my towel in my backpack too. I do have a small travel towel thing but it doesn't cover very much and at 6am in the morning I'm not sure my fellow swimmers want to see this. I also have a holiday planned for the end of August which means I have a pool and the sea at my disposal. My lovely friend Lucy is coming on holiday with me and she is a fantastic swimmer so can get some lessons off her.

Run more. I can run 5k however I'm not sure if I can run 5k after swimming AND cycling first so I want to get much stronger and faster to help me. I can fit a 5k run in during my lunch break so I plan to do this several times a week focusing on getting a little faster.

Put it altogether! I don't feel the cycling is going to be a massive problem for me I cycle every day however I do need to overcome the 'jelly leg syndrome.' So I just need to practice going for a run whenever I cycle. Sorted. Putting it altogether is what I'm most concerned about, it's finding the time to do it.

To achieve success you need a plan. I now have a plan. It's just fitting it all in.
