Well we presented ourselves at the given hour

scrubbed shiny, suited and booted and wearing to much eye makeup (only me) so I wouldn't cry. 

The verdict Top to Toe

  • Brain fine no abnormalities
  • Eyes Pupils are different sizes because of the cataract
  • Primary Oesophageal Tumour has not responded to Hereceptin and has grown considerably
  • Increasingly severe abdominal pain
  • All original metastisis have also increased in size
  • Tumour Markers rising fast
  • New Multiple metastisis in liver
  • Hb remains low due to internal bleeding

 Referred to local hospice,for palliative care / pain relief

Prescription to increase morphine and oromorph to hold Peter until hospice takes over 

Chest x-ray done to see if stent can be resited

Peter will have another two units of blood on Friday

May not be suitable for trials due to bleeding, 

Team considering any possible other options,details will be given to us prior to a team meeting for 3rd January when Peter will choose what he wishes to do. 

We managed to get all the way home before I washed off my mascara, with tears :(

    Sorry to hear some of that news - it must have been a very hard day.

    Who can say what options will be available ahead of 3rd January but I know if anyone can regroup and look forward to making this the best Christmas ever then it is you guys.  Eight days to go until Christmas Day, so make sure you keep Peter spruced up and looking smart!

    Oh Mushty that must have been such a difficult day. I fully agree with PP above - if anyone can regroup, it is both of you. There are options - that is good - and I know that you will both face them with courage and optimism. Sending you large but gentle hugs xx
