Lovely spring like weekend - but my training consisted of mowing the lawn, and pruning trees - i have to say it was tougher than my last 70.3!!! not seen gardening written into a training program but it should be! push your lawn mower uphill for 2 hours and then empty 10kg of wet grass about 20 times before trying to prune trees and not get smacked in the head by a branch. I'd planned on a 20km run but it never happened, 5 hours in the garden and i was pooped.
I did manage a one hour training session on the turbo trainer on Saturday though, was trying the first of my new 'sufferfest' training videos- which if you have never seen i'd highly recommend, really keep you motivated and pushing when otherwise you would be struggling to keep going. This will be the basis of my bike training all winter. they use real cycling tour footage, great music and are very funny too... (search sufferfest online)
