Too young for this

Hiya Iain! Sorry to read ur story so far, My first reaction to it , is poor bloke , exactly what I went thro nearly 5 years ago ! Try not to be too frightened , even though its the natural reaction to ur news. I had all ur fears and it seems to me , that every one of us , as been just the same at the beginnin!  There are a few reasons why your prostate is enlarged, and the worst scenerio is what u fear, Even if u do have prostate Cancer , the progress of it is very slow , so u will have many years before it gets u , if it ever does ! , The waiting is the worst part , the not knowing!, and whilst we dont know , we always fear the worst and it is natural that you feel all the things that you are feelin , the pains , the twitches , aches , its all part of the mind playing games with us , because of the fear of the results ! If u want to learn more about your position , go onto the prostate cancer charity site , you will find any questions u have , will be answered by very knowledgable ppl! I hope Lanzarote has gone someway to releiving some of your fears.

Sorry to hear of your worries - but the same as Lanzarote has said - I can think of at least a dozen more likley reasons for your symptoms. I am a bit puzzled as to why you have jumped to this tough conclusion - maybe Google Searches - never a good idea mate !

Again I echo his comments - try the Prostate Cancer Charity site if you need reliable informed information.

What is the right thing to do is never ignor worrying symptoms or be fobbed off by being reassured by a mate it not worth going to the Doctors. The test are a little embarrasing maybe - but does not take long and can give a pretty accurate answer, OK the waiting time for the results can still feel like taking a long  time.

Please do not draw comparisions betwen myself and you.First I am now 62  I struggled with severe symptoms for 7 year - on medication from my GP - by the time he accepted I need to see a consultan and have a biopsy mine had spread to the lymph system and was inoperable. That was 2 1/2 years ago - so at least 9 years from the symptoms being serious enough to see my GP - and I had waited a couple of years before I even considered seeing the GP ! - So 11 years on now - still have a few to go - unless one of those big red buses get me first  - we never know what life has in store for us !

Right congratulations on reacting so quickly - you have done the right thing ! - But do not jump to conclusions. Please wait for the tests and the results Mate !

As  a young Father of a young Family, its Human nature for you to worry about them and to want to protect them from anything that could harm them now and in the future.

I really do hope and expect your results to be something much less serious than your own conclusion. Maybe you could still learn something though from your scare - live every day to the max

we only get one chance to enjoy each one.
