Today was the Oxford Wonderful Waterways Walk (local Macmillan event) and we enjoyed the unseasonal sunshine and warmth at the end after a chilly start. I'm proud of my elder daughter Pippa who managed the whole walk (6 miles we think?) without any piggy backs and barely even a stop for lunch. We had our sandwiches after finishing.
Thanks to colleagues from work who showed willing and joined the walk and raised sponsorship too. And thanks to Bruce who carried Susannah much of the way round so that it could be a family day out as well.
Pippa raised £40 by collecting pound coins in a smartie tube. I don't know exactly how much I have raised (£100 perhaps?), but the year of fundraising has been going brilliantly so far as the coffee morning raised £678, the coffee morning in Edinburgh that mum and dad organised raised a further £310, and with on-line donations too we are well over the original thousand pounds target.
In the meantime, I have scans due in November. They should all be fine, but it will be reassuring to get them out of the way. I feel fine so no worries at the moment.
