I was pleased to be phoned by the MRI Unit and the Colorectal nurse co-ordinating my care on the same morning that I received the confirmation (over the phone from consultant) that it is a malignant tumour.
I had the MRI scan yesterday two days later (10th). I think this was particularly for scanning the pelvic area to build up a detailed picture of the tumour and neighbouring tissue. For anyone who doesn't know, you have to lie still and it's very noisy. It felt a bit weird but was painless. Lasted around 20 minutes or so.
