A good week

Less than one minute read time.

Two weeks since finishing treatment and I'm happy to report that I'm loads better. A week ago I was still needing daytime rests and my skin was still very delicate, but this week I have been in work and have been to ballet (twice! Yay!).

I was discharged by the oncologist today. He was happy with my progress (including my reporting improvements in bowel movements which he takes to be a very good sign), and has handed me over to the surgeon. My lovely specialist nurse is booking scans for me during the first week of November and will try to get me in to see the surgeon the end of that same week. Hopefully.

In the meantime, I can look forward to the next few weeks of good health.

After my appointment today it was busy, busy. I have been baking in anticipation of neighbours and various other local friends coming round for coffee as part of the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffeee Morning fund-raiser. Should be fun!

Love to all.

    Hi Arranmore,

Sorry it has taken me a few days to respond to your post. I'm afraid I can't really comment on constipation - my problems were of the other kind! (ie I am happy to no longer be suffering from diarrhoea now!).

You are further along with your treatment than me as I have yet to have the surgery for stoma (not sure yet whether it will be reversible or not). You might find a number of other posts helpful though. Perhaps you could have a look through (or leave a post) in the Bowel Cancer Group section?

Good luck and hope it is all getting better now.

    Eleanor
