First RT today

Less than one minute read time.

Ken had his first RT today.

A big talk with the big cheeses before helped him feel better. The fact that the surgeon will make sure that he will be able to breath through his nose somewhere at the end of this was a relief to him.

We were assured that nobody at Mount Vernon had lost their sight through this RT so that is a good thought.

The mask rested on his right eye too much so he had blurry vision afterwards so we will have to mention that tomorrow.

29 to go and they have changed the dates a bit so the last one is on Dec 31st !!! Yippee, no going into the new year.

Good to hear that Ken's first session went okay Zebady, and all due to be finished this year - that must feel positive! It sounds like you got lots of reassurance and hopefully the mask can be sorted x

Hello Zebady.  It must be a relief for you both that the first one is out of the way.  I had problems with my mask not fitting right, they fixed it easily by warming it with a hairdryer and then reshaping it.  x

Good to know that everything went okay for Ken today and that he has been reassured by his surgeon, all the best for the other twenty nine ... cross them off on the calendar, it surprising how quickly they go down.

I wish you all the very best, it's an exhausting time for carers so make sure you look after yourself too. xx
