Damn Mask

Less than one minute read time.

Given the fact that 1-2% possibility of late onset blindness WHY WHY WHY is it that luck has it that the mask (?) is making K have a fuzzy eye for about 3/4 of an hour after it is removed.

Give us a break please!!!!!!!!

Do I need to be positive on here?????

Can't say more just now

I wonder if this blog is a good thing to do

No, Zebady, you don't have to be positive here, you can just say it how it is and it sounds like the mask is causing you both additional stress at the moment.

Is there nothing the radiologist can do to adjust the mask?

So sorry you are feeling so fraught,

    Hugs, Hiloa x

    Thank you Hiloa

They supposedly adjusted it last night but still his vision was fuzzy. I have phoned the "ever sympathetic" oncology nurse who assured me that it is nothing to do with the radiation. I know that (I think ) but why can't it just go good?!?!?!?!  for a while?!?!

His success in life has been to worry about things and come up with answers but

    DZZZzzzz

Maybe I should put my coat on and sit in the garden and see if I can find a sunny spot between the tree shade

A little bit of quiet time is maybe just what you need. These delays and frustrations can really knock us back. Hubby's mask still isn't right either - and he's had two made. In fairness though I think it's his face as it seems very swollen at the moment. The nurse told us it has to fit like a surgeons glove, like a second skin so there really is no room for error at all. Hope you get it sorted next week. HUgs x

Hi Zebady.  Blogs are whatever you need them to be, so just say whatever you feel like saying.  Can they tweak the mask again?  It may be that they can make the eyeholes bigger.  I used to keep my eyes tightly shut all through RT, but I did hear a few people saying the bright lighting used to affect their eyes temporarily.  Hope you and your husband can get some rest over the weekend.  x

Still have rt tonight at 7pm and will ask the therapist if they can do something but because it is in the nasal area and including his optic nerves, which will take a blast, they are very particular. They won't even put eye holes in.
