Less than one minute read time.

Im looking for people going down same journey as my husband .hes 72 and was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer on 27th nov 2025. And is currently getting immunotheraphy treatment.had his 3rd one on 11th may 2026. He cant get chemo as they said tumor too near heart. Hes had some bad side effect thats getting him down daily. Hes  had thrush in his mouth causing horrible metalluc taste affecting his appetite hes lost 1 stone 4 1bs since diagnosis .mainly since starting treatment though .so over past 4 months.  He still gets pain moving around from one side . shoulder to front of chest alternating. Despite taking his meds on 10mg oxypro  slow release day and night .then oxycodine liquid inbetween as required for pain 3ml up to 6 times a day .usually takes 4 of these. Hes frustrated because he never seems to have a day without the pain. .just wondering if anyone else suffers same. That he could keep in contact with .or give him some advice .as doctors just tell him to up meds .his thrush has vleared up just now .with  nystatin .

  • Hello

A very warm welcome to the online Community - although I am so sorry to find you joining us. The Community is divided up into cancer specific groups and to "meet" others on the same or similar journey I would advise you to join these groups:

    Lung cancer forum

Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum

There is also a group your husband could join but he needs to sign up and create his own profile for this and the link is here:

Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only

To join these groups, click on the links I have provided and when the page opens up click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once you have joined the groups you can introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section. You can copy and paste or repost your original post from above.

    I hope the above helps.

If you need any help in navigating the Community please do get back to me.

    Best wishes - Brian.
