  • Hi  and welcome to the community,

As not everyone reads the blog section, you might get more replies if you join one of the forums. The cervical cancer group is where this is most often discussed, but I’m not suggesting for a moment that you might or would ever have cancer.

Having high risk hpv is a very common result from cervical screening, but the fact that you do not have any abnormal cells identified means that the virus hasn’t caused any damage. Most people who have ever been sexually active will have come in contact with the virus at some point, but for most it will not/never cause any harm.

Keeping up with cervical screening and going for your smear tests would identify any issues, so this is the best thing you can do.

  • Thank you I will try the community forms new to this and wasn't sure how it works

  • The link to the cervical group is here.

    Cervical Cancer Forum

I am the Community Champion for the group, which just means that I’m a volunteer for Macmillan and try to direct new members to the right place for support. I’ve also been through cervical cancer, treatment and surgery.

However, most ladies who join the group do so because they have a diagnosis of cervical cancer so the focus is on posts about that. I wouldn’t want you to get worried or distressed by reading too much about cancer when you haven’t been diagnosed with it.
