Last chemo cycle

Less than one minute read time.
John had last chemo cycle yesterday and is not feeling well today. Fortunately, though, he is now in the care of the wonderful staff at Sue Ryder based at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough as the side effects of his teatment have been getting worse and he is really suffering. John has gone there for treatment to alleviate these and get him back on track - all he wants to do is stop being sick so that he can eat a full English and a roast dinner, is that so much to ask??!!! We are all keeping our fingers crossed that he will achieve this and start to enjoy his life again. Much love to all of you out there for your messages of support and helpful suggestions, let's all keep fighting against this terrible disease. xxxxxxxxxx

Glad to see John has finished chemo, hopefully he will start to recover now from all the nasty side effects.  I'm sure it won't be long till he's having those fry-ups and roasts.

Hope everything goes well for him.  Best wishes to you both, Christine xx

Just a note on Thorpe Hall. Although i havnt been there, i used to work for Sue Ryder care some years ago and have visited one of thier hospices in Cheltenham-Leckhampton Court i think it was. It was the most amazing place! Set in beautiful countryside, so peaceful! They also have about 5 resident cats that just roam around, it really was a beautiful place.

My partner has had a really rough week, supposed to be his weeks break from chemo and he has felt worse this week than before! Has been sick quite a lot although chemo nurse said lots of chemo patients been ill this week due to the hot weather. They have now delayed cycle 2 by one week, although his bloods were fine they would like him to have another week to recover before starting again, dont know if this is normal cant help but think is that gonna give the cancer a chance to rear its ugly head again? Althought they have said it shouldnt make any difference.

Hope your hubby will soon be feeling better, stay strong, take care, Julie x

    Hello there!

I`ve just had my last cycle and feeling pretty much the same as John.

This is sheer hell! Keep on saying"I`ll feel more like myself tomorrow"

But the "tomorrow" hasn`t happened yet for me.

    Let`s keep on hoping together.
