has anyone had AVBD chemo?

Less than one minute read time.
Hi Everyone I am new to the" blog communiccation" but the isolation i feel at present has pushed me do something positive! I have had 2 (4 treatments) cycles of AVBD chemo they didn't go too well at first! Liver was very upset and decided to give up for a while followed by a blood clot on my lung! but I refuse to not be positive about the outcome. i am being treated as an out patient in a hospital but they have no other patients with this type of Chemo .I would love the opportunity to be able to email/talk to someone who has /is going/gone through this form of treatment thanks for taking the trouble to read this Hope everyone's day is getting better

I'm not going through the same treatment as you (got NHL) but stick a question on the Lymphoma forum and someone will usually answer -

    www.whatnow.org.uk/.../lymphoma-forum

Here's a couple of threads from there -

    www.whatnow.org.uk/.../confussed-about-abvd

    www.whatnow.org.uk/.../abvd-side-effects-and-effectiveness

Also, if you click on the 'people' tab up above (under the 'what now-a cancer community' bit of this page), you'll see that you can search for peple by cancer type (I'm sure that's not as um strange as it sounds!) - you might find a few people in a similar boat to yourself.

I sometimes go to the Lymphoma Association site - there'are a few ABVD threads here -

    www.lymphomas.org.uk/.../forum.asp

    Hope that helps!

    Kx

    Hi

I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had 6 cycles of ABVD chemo as my first treatment. I found that it made me very sick and tired but then again another young fellow who was having ABVD as well flew through it and was sitting up eating bacon rolls while hooked up. If you want to know just get in touch.

    Hello,

I have Hodgkins lymphoma and started off on ABVD chemo, only had 2 and a half cycles (5 lots) of it because it didnt work for me but i found it hit me pretty hard, the hardest out of all the types of chemo i've had! I was ok for the first 2 days then would wake up on the third day feeling like i had been hit by a bus and would spend the next 3 or 4 days hardly being able to get out of bed. It made me very tired and i slept alot. Also i had alot of problems with my taste buds and my appetite. I went right off food and when i did eat i could only manage small portions and things really didn't taste good at all! Sorry if it's all a bit doom and gloom but i hope it helps? If u need to talk or wanna ask more questions, feel free to contact me.

    Hope things improve for u,

    Emma
