Well saw the oncologist again wed eve and sending me for another routine scan, just for the record for anyone who doesn't know me as not on here very often, I was diagnosed with RCC (kidney cancer) in Feb 2009 and had radical open nephrectomy with resection of my liver and lung, had Avastin and interferon, didn't last the course but it knocked 9 bells out of it, and me as well! My scans up to date have all been showing my cancer is not active, and have been well, which is good as in my 40's and lead an active life with my 4 children and 3 grandchildren, and busy going on holiday and planning things which keeps me positive! On saying this I have had since November pain in my right shoulder blade which feels a bit like muscle strain but very annoying, just wondered if anyone else has had this sort of pain so long after surgery?? Anyway going for a scan on thursday to see if anything is happening, but haven't lost weight feel healthy and energetic , and my lymph nodes in my neck are not up, although at diagnosis I had several lymph nodes in my chest and base of neck affected by the cancer but left in situ, but subsided with the avastin. If anyone has any reassurance to give me I would be very gratefull!! lots of love Jilly x
