2 different cancers at same time

Less than one minute read time.

I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma x 2 after I had a thyroidectomy 9 weeks ago. Both tumors were confined to the thyroid and thankfully no further treatment. Then I was referred on a 2 week pathway for seperate issue of suspected endometrial cancer I had hysteroscopy 2 days ago. Not much was said at the procedure as I found the whole experience very traumatising I was in so much pain all I remember her saying was cervix looked good and she took 2 biopsies i was almost passing out through the pain. I had been admitted on ward 3 days before hysteroscopy for having 2 massive bleeds. Ive come home now and im still no clearer on anything my lining wasn't massively thick 7.4mm  I think its more of fact I had no bleeding for over a year and then recently started having pain and bleeding after intercourse. Im 48 years old not really sure what im asking maybe just other peoles experience in the unlikely event I have cancer in a totally different place at same time

Thanks

  • Hi

It’s Megan here from Macmillan’s Online Community team. I’d firstly like to wish you a warm welcome to the site. I hope you will find connecting with others to be a comforting source of support.

I came across your blog post and wanted to offer some support. It sounds like you may be looking to connect with others who share similar experiences.

Blogs can be a great tool to help diarise your personal experiences. If you wanted to connect with others, ask questions, and access peer support, you are welcome to post in the Thyroid cancer forum and the Womb (uterus) cancer forum.

Once you’re a member by clicking the grey ‘Click to join’ banner at the bottom of the page, you can add a post by clicking the ‘+new’ or ‘+’ button near the group title. There’s some useful step by step guidance in our Help Pages to help you join and post in our forums.

From reading your post, it sounds like you have been through a lot recently, so I hope you have some support around you. If you want to talk through your clinical questions with the Nurses here at Macmillan, you’re very welcome to.

Whilst the Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line can’t access personal medical records, they’ll be able to answer clinical questions about a cancer.

You can speak to the Nurses on the Macmillan Support Line every day from 8am to 8pm. To get in touch, you can call 0808 808 00 00, send an email, or start a live webchat during the opening hours. Even if you need a listening ear, the Cancer Support Advisors can offer emotional support.

I hope the above makes sense, and I’ve been able to reassure you that there’s lots of support available and we are here to help. If you need any help using the Community or finding additional support, please don’t hesitate to email community@macmillan.org.uk or send a private message to the Moderator account.

    Best wishes,

    Megan
