Weird Emotions - What's the Answer?

1 minute read time.
A strange day yesterday (Bank holiday Sunday) hubby went off to Bude with the Y5 from his school – I insisted on this annual arrangement as it will give him the opportunity, if only momentarily, to forget about this whole bloody situation. Mind you by the time he comes back on Friday, he will be so tired after body boarding (he fell off last year), mountain biking (he fell off last year) Orienteering (didn’t get lost last year) rock climbing (didn’t fall off last year) that he will need to recover for another week before going back to school, but guess what I have other plans for him, blood tests, chemo, etc etc…. arh isn’t life a bitch!!!!! All the sprogs are otherwise engaged and so is my phone!!!! They never stop phoning!!!!! So me and my dog have the freedom to do what we want, when we want…. Sleep, eat, sleep eat, sleep….. suits us fine!!!! I think that Sean (that’s the dog) is exhausted with all the sleeping that we have done over the past 24 hours, but boy did I need it. I need to be fully re-charged because my eldest son, who is a world champion flair bartender is coming home tonight for a few days whopeeeeeeeeee. For those of you who do not know, flair bartending is a very fast and energetic way of making cocktails… Think Tom Cruise in the film 'Cocktail', but of course, my Anthony is far better looking the Tom Cruise!!!!! ….. Bring on the Mojitos… must go now to make copious about of ice for the range of cocktails we will be drinking over the next few days. Good luck everybody Love Ann xxx

Hi Annie I hope you had a good time with your kids (and the cocktails!) I was diagnosed with stage 3a oc in jan and am just coming to the end of my chemo (6th one due next week). the whole cancer thing did my head in for a while- especially as oc is usually not mentioned in the lists of cancers, I have returned to work now (on reduced hours) so its not all doom and gloom- I am so looking forward to getting my hair back- but have saved a fortune in shampoo/ conditioner/hairdressers bills (gotta look on the bright side ) and am aware that there is every chance that the cancer may come back, but am also aware that people have years with the interventions offered to them.

take care of you and yours

    Hi Sue

I had a great time with my kids over the last week whilst hubby was away on a school trip.  I must say the cocktails work (along with the wine and rum!!!!).  Chemo starts next week on Friday (so that's going to put the kybosh on my weekends.  Ah well!  Glad to hear that you are back at work, and yes I am already saving a fortune on shampoo, electricity bills for hair dryer and straightners.... why didn't I have my hair cut this short before????  Please keep up the positive bright side and let me know how you get on.

    Take care
