Strikes a Chord - "You'll try anything..."

A cancer story on Yahoo today strikes a chord for me. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090608/ap_on_he_me/us_med_remedies_ovarian_cancer;_ylt=AjtiLXjQcVVKBdRrTz4L2f2s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTFkYW01YmZkBHBvcwMxNTIEc2VjA2FjY29yZGlvbl9oZWFsdGgEc2xrA3lvdWxsdHJ5YW55dA--

    Hi Lori

I was interested in that, particularly as the lady in question also has ovarian cancer!  Luckily she isn't claiming that any of the weird things she tried had cured her . . .  but she's still here 15 years later, despite only 20% of ovarian cancer patients surviving 5 years.   I don't think I shall be trying the giant mushrooms, but swimming with dolphins sounds great!

    Hope all's well with you

Funny Kate!  Yes, I thought she very succinctly just laid herself out there.  I thought she captured how some of us feel early on with our own thoughts as well as the onslaught of "say, have you tried shark cartilage?"  You know?  Emotionally she hit a chord with me.  She didn't judge or make herself or others wrong, she just said it like it is.  I appreciated her candidness and honesty.

All is well Kate!  Best!  Lori
