how very lax of me

1 minute read time.

I've just realised how long ago it was I posted on my blog.  Locovan will have words with me....

My life has carried on with 3 weekly treatments, so about  7 days between  after recovering from one before getting bloods done for the next.  My oncologist can't believe how quickly I have responded, so the cancer not only grows quick, it gets rid of it quick!.  I am hopeful that after next week (treatment 6) I will be able to have a break, and enjoy some time  being retired and feeling well....... and doing some of  those things we promised we would do when the time came.  Without insurance some will not be possible, and monthly check up's will also put a lot of out bounds, (taking our motorhome round Europe for 3 months!).  I don't know whether I will have the courage to fly to LA and visit my son and his family again......  we'll have to see how that goes when the doctor has made his decision. Trouble is with 2 different doctors you get 2 different stories!!

My local cancer support group have now go an accupuncturist that gives treatments to cancer patients, and I must admit that I feel better since I have visited him.  Some people don't believe in alternative therapies, but I think if anything makes you feel happier in yourself it must be doing you good.  He has definatley helped with my side effects.  I also feel that people shoudl opne up and tell others if they have cancer.  It is no good hiding and pretending it is not there.  Everybody knows about me, and it is so reassuring to hear people tell you that you are in their prayers, and they are thinking of you.  Even people you may not have spoken to for a long time will take up the call and make you feel loved and supported, which also makes you feel postive.

Meanwhile we are off over to France for 5 days, to sip some French wine and enjoy my husbands birthday before the decision!!

    Hi Viv,

So glad that you have had a good response and are feeling well. It will be lovely for you to have a break and enjoy life. I agree with you about alternative therapies to supplement cancer treatments and think they can have a very positive effect. I too, am open about my cancer and have wonderful support from my family and friends. It also helps them to talk about it and see how positive I am.

Enjoy France and raise a glass to yourself because you deserve it.

               Take care and feel well,

                          Love lizzie xx
