2nd immunotherapy infusion and 1st round of 6 months 5/28 temolozomide chemotherapy postponed a week due to a cold. Little children are walking viral incubators!
Got through the 1st round of chemotherapy ok, all I can say is that it was like being on a weeklong clubbing bender, where each day you feel worse but still go again, I had no sickness at least and was able to keep on eating.
Unfortunately, this time I’ve suffered with some side effects from the immunotherapy and come up with an all over body rash and prickly heat type itching. My steroid dose was increased 4 fold to reduce the rash, along with antihistamines to calm the itching. After a couple of weeks, the rash did come back down and resolve itself, it did however push the next round of immunotherapy back a week.
Finally got an MRI scheduled for end of the month, to say the words I’m petrified to see the result will be an understatement!
Scan result showed only minor growth from the previous scan taken before the radiotherapy and it showed the remaining tumour was about 9mm in size, so while it's not "good" news it does mean the treatment has done what it was meant to and slowed the growth significantly.
