Is It safe to Use different Brands medicines for the same Disease?

Less than one minute read time.

My mom was a cancer survivor and she was operated in India.she had the Chemotherapy Treatment too.then after she was consulted by her doctor to use Tamoxifen for five years. Now its almost Five years and she was suggested to restart the usage of the Tamoxifen Tablet. The problem is that im not getting the Tablet of the same brand Mom used previously.is it safe to start using the tablets of the different brand? or it can cause serious problems?

Brand doesn't matter, the nhs are trying not to use "designer" brands to cut costs,  it's like boots paracetamol or annadin... a designer t shirt or a normal one.... Their both t shirts, but you pay more for the "branded" one, so don't worry about it :)

I agree totally with Liz. The brand doesn't matter, it's the ingredient in the tablet that's important. I was on tamoxifen for five years and have a friend who was prescribed it too, but the brand she was given was different.
