Well it's ages since I updated my blog. As those in chat know by my 3rd cycle of AC my tumour had shrunk to 8mm (from 6.5cm). Not had a scan since so no idea how it's progressed since. The last cycle of AC wasn't pleasant as my hands and feet were very sore. On Christmas Eve I had my first dose of Paclitaxol (Taxol).
I've had two cycles and almost every side effect, from the runs to numb fingertips. It's certainly made me feel quite down and tired. The sore fingers from the AC kept me offline for a while as well!!
So after two cycles of Taxol I'm controlling most of the symptoms with meds but have numb fingertips and feet, my hands and feet feel cold most of the time, my bones ache and I can't seem to sleep properly so am even more tired all the time.
On top of that I'm putting on weight :(.
Still gotta be positive, at least I know the AC was working well and hopefully the same applies to the Taxol. And despite everything I'm certainly better off than some people.
Will be starting Herceptin next week (if the hospital can sort me out an appointment, they have more patients than slots at present).
Only 4 more cycles of Taxol to go then I can look forward to surgery!!!

Hi Gill, i'm sorry to hear you've been having hard times with the chemo, although i've finished my treatment I will never forget the effects of it. I did find Taxol easier to deal with tho and didn't get so much nausea, I hope you have mentioned your numb and sore feet/fingers to your doctor. Its a horrible feeling and I think one of the worst side effects. I kitted myself out with lots of fluffy socks which made it more comfortable. The chemo will soon be over Gill and you should get the feeling back in your toes like I have, I remember worrying that it would be permanent and I wasted a lot of energy worrying over it. I've had my surgery now and have just finished my radiotherapy so if you ever need me for anything please dont hesitate to contact me. Good Luck sweety!!!
