Remiss or remission?

Been a reasonable weekend, The usual tiredness and toilet issues but not enough to ruin the weekend or dampen my determiantion to fight through.However the most interesting thing was chatting in the macmillan chat rooms where i was taken back by how much people declare them self as "In remission" rather than declare themself as "clear of cancer".

It made me wonder if my optimism was remiss of me but hey, thats the way I am and even now as I consider the question again, I still prefer to help spread the smiles, both in me and in others and say that my latest ECG shows I am clear of cancer rather than keep the element of doubt looming over me.

The fighting spirit is vital to us all in so many scenarios. Some of my friends think I'm a hero because it has helped me through my issues. But I regard it as a justified belief in life and the family and friends that have. It has helped me smile in the knowledge that better days are coming. And brrrr in these chilly days, thats just what we want to hear!! It also helped me turn my experience into a positive by writing a book about it. Hopefully it can then inspire others through their ordeal.

Meanwhile, best wishes to you Jannie and though the clouds around you look dark and forbidding at present, remember this. Once the clouds go away, they leave behind a beautiful day. So take care, keep fighting and enjoy last smile.
