Disgusted

Less than one minute read time.

The home care assessor called yesterday to offer us a care package for mum, the visiting times from the carers would be 11.00, 1.00, 6.00 and then 7.00 p.m. what the hell are we supposed to do with that?? That would mean my mum lying unable to move in her bed from 7.00 at night until eleven in the morning?? I have told Fife Council to get this sorted. I have a feeling they  are dragging their heels hoping my mum will pass away in the hospice. The family are so stressed my sister was in tears.

My mums wedding ring had to be taken off as her hand has swollen up, she has never had this ring of since the day she got married 56 years ago. My mum wants me to have it so its on a chain around my kneck it's heart breaking I wanted her to keep it on until she passed as she always said that her ring would be on until the day she dies.

hopefully Fife Council will get their finger out and get this care package sorted out so we can get her home.

    Hello Mrs Bee,

That does sound awful but I fear not uncommon. Is hthere any way you can get overnight care for your mum from someone like Marie Curie or Hospice at home? If she is in the hospice now is there no way they can help advise you on such matters.

Sending love and strength at this difficult time.

Hi Mummy's girl, the hospice is trying their hardest for us. Marie Curie can only offer us 2 nights at the most

    Hi Mrs Bee

This all sounds so familiar.  When we were considering whether to take mum home or not we were offered almost exactly the same package, and told marie curie/macmillan could only offer 2 nights aswell.  Unfortunatly the family decided that my dad wouldnt be able to cope with this level of care and mum was found a place in a local care home (macmillan palliative bed).  Its so sad to see her lying there every day and i so wish we could have had her at home.  Really hope you manage to get something sorted out love Eileen
