Do you think of Breast Cancer every day?

Less than one minute read time.

I find that I see life differently now, since diagnosis.  Everything seems to be through a "Breast Cancer Lens".  Do others find that too?  Will it fade in time?

Here are my thoughts

Yes lm the same feisty. I have ovarian cancer and have been living with it for 9yrs. Cancer rules your life. When can you go on holiday, when is the next oncology appointment. It changes how you plan things or can you plan ahead. l book a holiday then the C is back im told "can l have my hols" l ask. If its too far ahead he says not sure.

On the plus side its made me make decisions, if l want to and l can i will or l can say no if l want. was not like that before too much in decision.

Hope all goes well for you big check, love Rosie

Yes, I think we all live with cancer forever after a diagnosis. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 7 years ago in December and it is still there with me, although not to the extent that it was at the beginning, so it does fade with time.

All the very best for your future treatment.

    Best wishes, Christine xx

Mmmmm I was dx in 99, after surgery, and rads, I just put it to the back of my mind, apart from check ups I just got on with enjoying my life, and i didn't let it interfere with my life.....

08 I was told I have secondaries in my liver and a primary in my uterus and that I had 3 to 4 months to live..... NOW it does rule my life......... I had 9 years of " normality" and I am so glad I was able to put cancer to the back of my mind, don't let it rule your life, take control and enjoy yourself, it may never raise it's ugly head again, my mum was dx 9 months after me... And 10 years later she is still cancer free....

    Good luck

HI Sarsfield, Rosie, Christine and Liz

Thanks for your comments and your warm wishes - it is really good to connect with you here and I really appreciate it.

This forum is especially helpful for me as I am living in Asia (though I am Scottish) so online friendships, support and helpful guidance from your own experience is really helpful.

Very warm wishes and thanks to you all and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

    Philippa
