Less than one minute read time.
My Dad had Bladder Cancer and was treated with two forms of Chemo, after the first failed. Then with a boost of Radio as a precation or extra, then within one month my Dad had sholder pain. His GP diagnosed Arthritis, after a blood test and treated him with Pain killers only. None of this helped, then on Friday he had Blood in his urine. Rushed into Hospital and today confirmed he has secondary Bone Cancer, only one month after all clear. Waiting to see original conultant Dr to discuss tomorrow. Does anyone have similar experiance of this situation, or condition. Does anyone have suggestions of what to ask of Consultant tomorrow. Thanks & Regards...

    Hi MS,

I am sorry to hear that your dad has to go thru this especially just after being given all clear so recently. Do you know how extensive the spread to the bones is? If this is the only spread then secondaries to the bone can be very treatable. My cancer is of the breast so I know nothing of bladder cancer. But I have had very extensive 2ndary bone disease for 7 years now and am given bisphosphonates every 3 weeks by infusion. This has kept the disease very stable all this time. They may want to put your dad back on some form of chemotherapy as obviously the cancer is on the move again. There are a number of bisphosphonates such as pamidronate and zometa which are infusions, and ibandronate which is a pill forum. I hope they sort out his treatments options soon  and he starts to feel a bit better.

    Hi ,

We saw the consultant this evening who has confirmed my dad has got secondary bone cancer in his leg and top of his kneck.

He wants my dad to have a full head scan tomorrow to see if it has spread any where in his brain, then this week hopefully he will start again radio therapy a few shots the doctor has said.

The Doctor said that it was common when you have had bladder cancer for it to spread to bones, we are dissapointed as my dad was doing so well his oriniginal bladder cancer had shrunk very well and doctor very pleased then 3 weeks later started having bad pain in his kneck and back.

My dad also started  have blood in his urine again, does anyone now if this happens with bone cancer?

has any one had experience with bone cancer and what treatments are available.

    Thanks.
