fainted before chemo even began!

1 minute read time.

Well first day and i breezed in to chemo ward nice and early! had to get up at 6 to be there for 9. I have had so many canulas and been put out twice for my operations but today i had canula put in and promptly passed out! the nurses thought id had a fit lol but it was just me and the thought of needles and chemo. I think all the talk of what to do when your temp goes up and side effects made my brain think Iv had enough of this!!

After all that it wasnt that bad and i have three more days of it to get through so the plan is tomorrow not to faint! what a wally!

The rt was not to bad either the first few minutes of the mask claming down on my face and my tongue thing pushing on my obturator was a bit uncomfortable but it was just plaing games in my head to pass the time and it whizzed by! think countries beginning with the alphabet! it must have been slightly panicked got stuck on D how bad is that? lol

Anyways im hoping the sickness etc is short and not too bad so i can rest at the weekend ready for my bank holiday rt, hopefully the traffic will be ok and it wont be such a long day!

Take care of you

Hi Jayne, you are very brave, when I had a scan I panicked because I hate being shut in but I counted to five hundred and it helped.  Just keep thinking positive thoughts that all this treatment is killing the bugger.  I'm reading Lance Armstrongs book and he describes chemo and weeing that every time he pees, he getting rid of the cancer, clever I think!  Look forward to your weekend and do rest its really is the best cure.

    Take care

Hello Jayne. Well done on getting through today ! But hey, who likes needles and things - I also felt like passing out when a canula in a particularly sore spot kept falling out. Glad the RT wasn't too bad, the mask / tongue thing takes a bit of getting used to.........but just count the treatments down. To help relax during my RT, they played music CDs in the room - see if they will do that for yourself. Wishing you all the best, Jayne, you will get there. Love, Joycee xx
