The first day of my cancer journey

Less than one minute read time.

Waking up today with a completely different mindset. Yesterday was the first day of my bowel cancer diagnosis. WOW what a difference a day can make in anyone's life. I was born with positive thinking, and problem solving as a skills. Today has started with confusion. My mind is now being put to the test. I have decided to get mentally stronger everyday in what ever way I can. Starting with sharing positivity, sharing my positive thinking with anyone who is facing the same journey. No matter what the future holds, never loose your focus on your personal wellbeing. Every day matters.

  • I'm tempted to say welcome to the bottom cancer club...

I'm nearly a year on from my bowel cancer diagnosis. My experience of the NHS has been pretty good, 100% caring and professional staff and, generally, appointments have been rapidly organised.

My absolute strength has come from those around me who have provided more support than they can possibly realise. Lean on your friends and family when you need to, they will be more than willing to help. And Ouvrier is right when they say that we are stronger than we realise.

And I agree with Optimus, blogging and writing down my experience has been more helpful than I would ever have imagined.

Waiting for answers is really hard. Good luck.

  • I wish you well
