Remission?

Less than one minute read time.
I have had the operation, finished radio/chemotherapy does that now mean I'm in remission??

    I think that you have to wait until you have had your follow up tests/scans to see if the treatment was successful. That's how it was with me, I had scans 3/4 months after (it might be different for different cancers though) I finished treatment and then had an appointment with my consultant and oncologist and they told me that I was in remission :)

    Thanks for that i did wonder, i got a check up on the 30th i will ask when my scan is they did mention i would have one.

    it is when they tell you that the tumours are stable or gone... in other words not growing.. they dont always say remission as such.... i was told that my tumours were stable and it was only when i requested my notes that i saw the word remission..... people often mistake the word remission as cancer free. but being cancer free is better than remission.... some one might say i am wrong but this is my experience. good luck liz xxx

    I had the tumour removed, i always thought remission meant cancer free, all confusing
