Mike On The Bike

Mike has decided to call time on the Macmillan Community website. He will still be a Cancer Voice volunteer and may well browse here once in a while. He has asked James to delete his account. He also contributes on a Bladder Cancer Forum/Chat website in the USA so some of you may bump into him there. Time to move on.

Those folk who had contact with Mike will probably know that, following his operation in March 2009 he is now free of cancer and is looking forward to enjoying the second phase of his life. I can vouch for the fact that he is now in better health than he has been in many a year. Lets hope that his amazingly good fortune rubs off on you all.

From what I can gather he rather feels the site has lost its way a bit and is not as supportive as it was when he was very ill just over a year ago. I know he is very thankful for all the support he had been given over the time when he was ill and enjoyed being part of the community.

There are quite a few folks here that contact Mike by phone or e-mail and I guess also that he'll stay in touch with them.

Hi Elaine

Please tell Mike that I'm sorry that he's leaving the site. He has been one of the members that has written or replied to blogs, and his comments have given me reason to laugh, and for that I thank him. Good luck for the future Mike, you'll be missed.

Hi Elaine, thats a shame Mike has decided to call it quits. But I do understand and agree that the site is not the same. I don't participate like I used to. I have been treated successfully 4 years ago, and am still cancer free so I think the time has come for me to move on. I get so fed up with all the controversy on the site. You can't seem to say anything anymore without someone gettting the arse ache. So I hardly bother anymore as I can't put up with it all bollox that goes on. Anyway Elaine it was really great to meet you both and please tell Mike I wish him the very best and that extends to you also. Bye bye and you both take care, luv Cher lol

dont think i spoke to mike personally but did read a lot of his blogs on the old site and he always made me smile when i was at my lowest :)

Sorry Mike is leaving us, he made me

laugh many a time and will be very much missed. So many people from the lovely

Whatnow site didn't come back here,

and now there are many people leaving

this new Mac site, such a shame as this

site still has loads of lovely people who

help each other. Good Luck Mike in all

you do .
