Throat and tongue cancer

Less than one minute read time.

Hi all

We have been told that my husband has got cancer of the tongue and throat.

But waiting results, just feel like I am in void. You do not know which way to turn. Itd funny but he seems to be coping much better than I

Hello Cassiemisty.   I'm sorry that you are awaiting biopsy results on your tongue ... this bit is always the worse and you will be feeling distressed. I'm sure as soon as they have the results you will be told and if needed, treatment plans will be made and discussed with you.

If you join the site's main Head and Neck Cancer group you will be able to post any questions and concerns that you have there ... we are a friendly lot and are happy to help where we can. I'll add the clickable link for you below ... take care.

Hi  Sue,  This must be a major worry for you, cancer messes with your head and he obviously isn't thinking straight - Your son may have mentally accepted the hype from online peddler's of these near to useless alternative therapies because he is really scared of the side effects of chemo and rads.

Cancer Research uk produced a webpage titled 'Ten Cancer Myths De-Bunked' which is a good read you may wish to share with your son but if he is hell bent on doing this 'his' way and family and fiends cannot sway him that chemo is very do'able he will no doubt be shortening his life expectancy :-(

If all these £20 potions from the internet cured cancer the NHS would be handing these out rather than Chemo and Herceptin at up to £35,000

You could join the Head and Neck Group and see if you could get your son involved there too if not there is also a Family and Friends Group for emotional and practical support you should join.

Hope this helps sue, hope he sees sense, take care.
