I start chemo next Wed, to say I’m somewhat anxious about this is an understatement but hey ho there is no backing out now!
I have 2 children (teen & uni student) & a great husband who need me around for a while longer so am embracing this in the hope it will reduce my risk of this horrible disease coming back!
I was picked up during a standard screening - turns out I had extensive grade 3 dcis & nasty grade 3 Idc to boot! I never felt a thing so this diagnosis knocked me sideways…
I have had a diep reconstruction which has healed really well so now ready to be blasted with chemo ;)
The odd thing through all of this though is that I have never felt fitter or healthier in my life physically! Can’t say the same for my mental health which has taken a bit of a battering; anxiety & fear are my constant companions. I tried a breathing app which does help as does exercise so I am coping to some degree!
Dying to get chemo started so I can tick off off the sessions one by one.
I am having 8 cycles at two week intervals starting with EC
