19) 4th Paclitaxel

1 minute read time.

Last chemo cycle of 8 finally done - hopefully for ever! I never want to go through this experience again. Fingers crossed the cancer has been firmly stopped in its tracks & has not snuck out to eye up another location in my body to set up home & get comfy!!

I also had the PICC line removed. I was dreading this but it was fine.  It was attached to my arm with two butterfly stitches which needed to be removed before it could be taken out. It stung a tiny bit when the stitches were removed but it was a very quick process. I am glad it’s out but it was great & it did its job admirably:) I wish I had it done at the beginning but better late than never!
Now I need to focus on getting my life back. I am thinking of getting some counselling to help me move on. I am constantly thinking about spread/recurrence! I need to find coping mechanisms to help me live my life in the present & not in constant fear! Easier said than done…
I have been lucky with the side effects so far so hopefully the the effects from this last cycle won’t be too bad.
I am glad this part of the treatment is over.  I have an appointment in about 5 weeks to discuss next steps which I think will involve Letrozole & bisphosphonates to further reduce recurrence.
