14) 5 days post first Paclitaxel

Less than one minute read time.

I feel pretty normal after my first paclitaxel which is great.  I have had a few side effects though - on day 2 the tips of my fingers & toes were quite painful (only in the evening) - felt as though I had caught them in a door! I dunked them in ice & that seemed to resolve it and I haven’t experienced this since.

I have also had some random back & bone aches which come & go. I took soon co-codomol last night to make sure I could sleep.  The hospital supplied this & pre-warned me about these aches & pains so st least I was prepared.

Overall it is a lot easier than EC which st the time I thought wasn’t too bad! I am really hoping it stays like this!  I have 3 more treatments so fingers & toes crossed for a relatively easy ride to the finish line! I can finally see light at the end of this looong tunnel!!

    1. Hi Meanegg, I’m pleased you are coping with PAC. I had numb/sore fingertips and numb toes after my first Docetaxel, but nothing unbearable. I had the second dose a week ago and so far so good. I’ll try the ice dunk if I get it again! I’ve had the same lower back/leg pains as you but I’m sure that’s from the Filgrastim injections. Are you having them too? Good luck for the remaining three cycles.
  • Thanks Amy,  I’m not having the filgrastim injections with Paclitaxel but had them with EC.  I bought some ice gloves to try if my fingers get sore again.  Good luck with your remaining cycles too :)
