Gone too Soon

Less than one minute read time.

My lovely dad passed away a week ago and our lives have been turned upside down. Eleven weeks, almost to the day, he developed a chest infection and wihin six hours had breathed his last in the Sue Ryder Hospice he spent two weeks in back in November.

Eleven weeks is too short a time to even get used to him having cancer let alone losing him in that time. He was a good man, why him??? Why not some bad bastard who raped or murdered? No, it had to be my lovely dad, my daughter's grandad and my grandson's great grandad, him who did nothing against anyone all his life!

Now we have had the trauma of having to find money up front for the funeral, £799 to be exact, money we just didn't have! My daughter and I had to pool our resources, me my disabled living allowance and her, her Christmas money to get half and the rest was kind donations from friends. My dad is having a bare minimum funeral, no service, no church, just the local crematorium and then a wake in his favourite pub.

RIP Dad I love you xxxxx
