The Demise of Roland Ratso: Chapter fifty eight

2 minute read time.
Thursday and my “little girl” has come to stay for a couple of days. She is full of it – her current game is being a school teacher and I have to make a register up which she marks unmercifully. Then she asked me how my buttocks are and if the nurses are still writing on my bum. I tell her they are not and then she asks me if they have got someone else to write on and I tell her that they probably have. MY buttocks are also pristine. Irene has just got her mammogram results – all clear and I am really pleased for her. Eric led me astray last night but I have got indigestion and have to leave a half of beer – sacrilege! Ron joins us and the conversation gravitates towards cancer – as it usually seems to do. Ron apologises saying that here I am suffering from it – they are being insensitive. It doesn’t bother me. There seems to be dozens who have it that use the club. Eric is feeling a bit down in the dumps – he has had a biopsy today and they hurt him and he was upset because he couldn’t fasten his shoelaces after they had finished with him. I tell him I would swap undone shoelaces for a full pair of underclarts anyday. He has got to have a lamenectomy which is where they are going to shave some of the discs in his neck that are pressing on his nerves but that is not why they have done a biopsy. I think he feels like he is dropping to bits with various other problems. I tell him that they are going to cut his head off and put it back on the right way round which will be an improvement! I have now spent over an hour writing letters to Eleanor which is her latest game. She can’t stop talking and even as I am having my tea I have to endure incessant chatter. Nanny and I are now going to her house for a sleep over, are having spaghetti for tea followed by trifle, trifle, have a big fat eyeful. She is so very kind. I wonder what her parents will make of it when we turn up. Got the consultant Friday. I am expecting more chemo and probable radiotherapy. It’s a morning appointment so at least the agony will not be prolonged like when I have an afternoon appointment. I am quite incensed that Seanty has been banned. I think he performed a great service to th site and those who did not subscribe to his views did not need to read his blogs which, like mine, are readily identified. I have been involved in running a council message board which at times can become very hot and I have had to support the moderator when they have banned people or organisations. I think I will have to write to the chief executive and register my point of view. I did consider leaving the site but I think that would just be cutting off my nose etc. and the fact that some people do seem to get something out of my ramblings,
