Irene brought me breakfast in bed for my Valentine. Along with a lovely card. When we went to the shops on Saturday I sent Irene to the co-op while I doubled back to the veg shop and bought her a bunch of flowers which I hid in the boot of the car.
The other part of my cunning plan was to go to Argos on a pretext and buy her a TV for the bedroom. I have resisted her pleas for a telly in the bedroom because she will fall asleep and leave it on and I will finish up turning it off but she has assured me that she won’t.
So Valentine’s day after my breakfast I got the flowers and TV out of the car and lead into the living room with her eyes shut. Now all I have got to do is fit the bracket and extend the aerial.
The DIY jobs are mounting up and although the mind is willing the flesh is week. My bum is still sore – I seem to have reached a plateau with pain level. The leak from the hole in my groin is still oozing – apparently it is a piece of skin graft that has not taken but the liquid is making the skin on my bum sore and the pads I wear to keep me dry are making my groin sore. My old back injury is playing up as well. I have got to make a list for mt G.P. who I see next Wednesday. I have also got an MRI scan on Wednesday so they can see where the liquid is being produced along with a follow up appointment in March.
Picko was out on Sunday night and he was complaining on the infrequency of my blogs. I tell him that now that I am more mobile I have things to do. I went to three council meetings last week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Sitting down for a couple of hours is still an ordeal.
Tom-ass has settled down a bit although on Saturday morning I woke to a almost bursting bag at three thirty in the morning. It was soon changed without mishap so I am seeing about my irrigation next week. The skin that my bag attaches to is sore and bleeding and one way round it is to cut the hole off centre and give the skin a chance to breathe. That’s the one disadvantage of pre cut stoma bags – they have to go on the same place every time.
