Laughter is the best medicine

Less than one minute read time.
Laughter is the best medicine. Please don't apologise for laughing at my blog. That is what it is there for. Regards writing a book, I have stated a couple - one is a fictional story based on my coalmining career and is an attempt to detail life in a modern coalmine. Instead of writing it as a description I have put it in the context fo a story with characters who are an amalgam of all of the characters I have met along the way. I dig it out and write a few words now and again but progress is slow. Might get it finished one day - I have written the end! Thanks for all of your kind comments. Got to go - the clacker is calling!

Keep writing, Drew - you're very talented.  My daughter, back from uni for the weekend, read your blogs and thought they were brilliant.  She suggested that you could use them to raise awareness of bowel cancer and break down some of the embarrassment associated with it.  My dad had bowel cancer and recovered, so we understand about it.  Good luck with the rest of your treatment.

I'd certainly enjoy reading your book, not that I know about coalmining, but I very much enjoy your writing style.

I always hope to write something myself one day - but like you say, its slow progress !!

Thanks for keeping me smiling, look forward to your future blog instalments x

The book (if it ever gets finished) is an attempt to convey life underground in a modern coal mine. Rather than write a factual account of wat miners did I am trying to weave a story with characters to describe what they actually did. It is a humourous book - with its serious side.

    Thanks for your kind comments.
