Last week my 2 year old son was happily running around in the park, chasing after our two dogs. On the Friday afternoon, my wife had taken him to the GP, concerned about a rash on his body. The doctor thought it was menengitis and sent him to the County Hospital for tests. When the consultant came in with the result of the blood test, the last thing that any of my family expected was to hear the word 'Leukaemia'.
Once the diagnosis was made, everything was put into place to treat him. A bed was found at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton.
