I have had my second CT scan since being diagnosed with oesophagus/stomach cancer on 14th January 2009 and since starting ECX chemo.
I have to see the consultant this Friday, 3rd April to get the results.
It could be good news and off to Nottingham for surgery or they may want to do more treatment first. Its living in limbo land until you get told something, drives me mad really but you need to have patience!!!!!!! OMG
I know the tumour has shrunk as I can feel that but has it shrunk sufficiently?? The surgeons wouldnt even consider surgery after the first scan as the tumour was very very large. Makes you wonder how long it was growing for.
Being positive most of the time but frightened that your life is in someone elses hands that you hardly know fills me with a tad of fear.
Shall post again on Friday with an update.

The rate at which they can shrink the wee beasts doesn't seem to be an exact science, so patience is a virtue in this situation. You may not know these docs, but they are IT for the moment, and they'll know when the right time comes to operate.
Fear is healthy. If you weren't a bit scared, I'd get you a shrink.
Good luck. The waiting is terrible, I'll agree with that. I hope you get the news you're waiting for and you can get it all over with as soon as poss. Keep us updated.
